Susan Mansell, a fourth generation Texan, studied art at Southwest Texas and Angelo State University and took up watercolor in the mid-90’s.  Her main emphasis is on transparent watercolor.
        
Mansell’s work has been shown in numerous national and regional shows such as the National Watercolor Society, Transparent Watercolor Society of America, Watercolor West, Texas Watercolor Society, Southwestern Watercolor Society, Western Federation of Watercolor Societies and many more. 

From 2000-2009, she has won over 30 awards.  Most recent awards have been:  2009 Texas Watercolor Society’s Herwick Award, 2007 Best of Show in the Stars of Texas and also San Angelo’s Fiesta in Realism, Award of Excellence in the 2006 Western Federation Societies Annual Exhibition, SWS 2006 Award of Merit.
        
A past-President of the Creative Arts Club of Abilene, Texas, and an associate member of American Watercolor society and the National Watercolor Society, Mansell is a signature member, Purple Sage status, of the Texas Watercolor Society (TWS), The Transparent Watercolor Society of America (TWSA), Southwestern Watercolor Society (SWS), Western Federation of Watercolor Societies (WFWS), and Watercolor West (WW). Her work is included in private collections, corporate offices, Splash 9, Watercolor Secrets, and Splash 10.
