Blue Bunny Steals the Show!

………at the meeting of the Fine Arts League
of Coleman County Thursday evening.  
Sherrell Hazelwood gave a Power Point
presentation featuring his “world famous”
Blue Bunny.  The project involved being
able to connect the dots as well as color
the Blue Bunny properly.  Fun was had by
all, and hopefully, all passed the first
lesson  of “No Artist Left Behind” Class 101.  
Fifteen members and one (courageous
guest) participated.  Sue Shields presented
a beautiful table of refreshments.
       Officers for the year 2008 were
installed by Bill Shields.  President – Millie
Martin, Theda Rhea V. Pres.; Robin Black,
Secy; Virginia Bethke, Treas.; Marian
Johnson, Publicity; Charlotte Gardner,
Parliamentarian; Dollie Sparkman, Telephone.
       Community Projects discussed
included the completion of the mural for
the Library – Bill shields; Sesqui cookbook
(needs more recipes)  – Lois McCarty;
Junior Art League (high school) – Virginia
Bethke  to begin meeting on 3rd Tuesdays
at the Museum on Commercial; 2008 Juried
Art Show – Marian Johnson.
         There are many opportunities to
serve in the Fine Arts League.  If you are
interested in the promotion of art activities
for young  and old  in the community, there
is a place where you can serve.  Contact
any member of the Art League for more
information.   Anyone is always welcome to
the meetings and the programs promise an
interesting and sometime humorous
evening.  Robin Black will be in charge of
the February meeting.
       Those attending including the above
mentioned were: Ted & Martha Shelton,
Brownwood; Judy Helton, guest; Pat Slate,
Sharon Dick; Linda Wright.  The February
meeting will be Feb. 15th   6 pm First
Coleman National Bank Club Room.
